Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC) is pleased to announce a new rotation of the existing Capricorn service through New Zealand. The new rotation from Sydney will call Bluff, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier and Tauranga, enroute to Brisbane, Singapore and Jakarta. With this new, more economical rotation, the transit times ex North Island load ports of Tauranga and Napier to strategic hub ports of Brisbane and Singapore will be reduced by up to 6 days. In conjunction with the revised rotation MSC will reinstate a weekly Bluff call, commencing with the MSC Hobart v0821 effective 23rd May. MSC believes this timely reinstatement will provide cost effective sea freight opportunities for local Southland Industries, as well as upcoming business ventures within the Southland region. Southport New Zealand Limited and MSC have worked hard to implement this new and improved service. As a result, both parties are extremely happy and confident of a successful outcome.
